    Dr. Wu Nan is a distinguished thoracic surgeon with research focuses on advanced surgical techniques and Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) for complex lung and esophageal cancers, clinical research on novel therapeutics for thoracic malignancies, development and application of biomarkers for early and differential diagnosis, and integration of digital technologies into end-to-end management of lung cancer. 

    Renowned for his expertise, Dr. Wu hold significant international and national professional appointments, including member and former Chair of the Membership Committee for the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC), member of the Scientific Committee of the European Lung Cancer Congress (ELCC), and member of the Lung Cancer Academic Committee of the Federation of Asian Clinical Oncology (FACO). He is also a member of the Thoracoscopic Surgery Group, Chinese Society for Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery; a member of the Oncology Society of the Chinese Medical Association; a Standing Committee Member of the Multidisciplinary Oncology Committee, Chinese Medical Doctor Association (CMDA); a Standing Committee Member of the Thoracic Surgery Committee, China International Exchange and Promotive Association for Medical and Health Care; Vice Chair of the Smart Healthcare Expert Committee, Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO); a member of the Non–Small Cell Lung Cancer Expert Committee, CSCO; Vice Chair of the Oncology Chemotherapy Committee, Chinese Medical Education Association; Vice Chair of the Lung Cancer Expert Committee, Wu Jieping Medical Foundation; a Standing Committee Member of the Geriatric Oncology Committee, China Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics; and Vice Chair of the Oncology Committee and a Standing Committee Member of the Thoracic Surgery Committee, Beijing Medical Association. 

    Dr. Wu has led multiple national- and ministerial/provincial-level research projects. To date, he has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in domestic and international journals, with representative articles appearing in Signal Transduction and Targeted Therapy, Cell Discovery, EBioMedicine, Cancer Research, Molecular Therapy, and other leading international journals. He has served as editor-in-chief of several monographs, including Comprehensive Management of Lung Cancer in the Elderly, Standardized Surgical Management of Lung Cancer, Atlas of Standardized Lung Cancer Surgery, and Global Advances in Minimally Invasive Lung Resection and Chinese Practice. He has also served as associate editor or contributing editor for multiple textbooks and clinical guidelines, including Introduction to Clinical Medicine, Surgery, and the CSCO Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Treatment of Primary Lung Cancer. 

    His honors include Pioneer Educator of the Beijing Education System (2023), Outstanding Educational Support Talent for Tibet Autonomous Region (2022), “Dengfeng (Peak-Climbing)” Talent of Beijing Hospital Authority (2020), Beijing “Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Program” (2018), Second Prize of the Huaxia Medical Science and Technology Award (Second Contributor, 2016), and the title of “Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Physician of Beijing” (2012).
